Looking for insight in selling my Eagles

Good evening, everyone,

I have been collecting gold eagles for about four years now, and have always found the message boards here very helpful. As with alot of people I am sure, due to the economy, I must sell my collection. Can anyone steer me in the right direction on how to get the best prices? i would love the help, i just don't want to get feelced. Thanks in advance,

Nick

What type of eagles are you wanting to sell? Gold eagle, silver eagle, double eagle $20, eagle $10, half eagle $5, quarter eagle $2.50?

From your name, I'm going to guess they're $20 gold eagles, but whatever they are you just need to determine what they're selling for on the open market. Thus I would check ebay and Heritage past auction sales information. You could also be more specific (i.e. provide dates, condition, raw/slabbed, and pictures) and most people here will be happy to provide an opinion.

  • Ok, sorry guys, all my coins are Gold Eagles, from 1988 to 2008, PCGS and NGC grades between 69 and 70, some proof....ex.:

    1996 Ultra Cameo PF 70 1 oz.

    1988-P PR69DCAM 1 oz

Sorry if I seem like an idiot, but instead of putting money in the bank, I would go to APMEX or Modern Coin Mart online when I had money and bought what I could....What is my next step, they all have serial numbers it looks like (obvious because of the grading)?

    Thanks in advance

IT would also help to post pictures, perhaps provide your eBay id for feedback refs and any dealings with other members here would help.

I think you will find plenty of serious and fair buyers right here.

    PS: Go Pack!

I imagine here on the BST is a good bet for you, or a local coin shop. If you price them close to current Bid with free shipping, you shouldn't have any problem selling them. If you still have the original packaging, that's a big plus in some folk's eyes. Good luck with the sale. Don't ship until you get a good payment.
