Which firm sold it as "GEF". Well that might be asking too much information; I say this because most of the GEFs, admittedly Victorian generally when graded by Spink or Baldwin generally return with at least an MS62 though as I have mentioned previously have seen "65"s.
    Thanks for sharing!

That seems a fair grade for a very pretty coin. The flat spots on the lower hair cur;s will cause an AU grade every time. I have a Geo. III that is similar, MS65 fields, but flat spots on the lower curls.
  • Thanks guys.

I'm happy with it although I thought it at least had a shot at MS 65 because the flat spots can be strike
    weakness or die fills.

The price I paid, however, was commensurate with a "less than uncirculated" outlay and the
    color was a big influence.

I checked back but didn't keep the slip. It could have been a A/Unc grade rather than GEF
but not by a major dealer.

I've bought a few raw coins from this particular dealer and the prices have been fair, the descriptions
unmisleading and the service excellent. It wasn't however, one of the majors that you'd all
    recognize.

    Regards....

I love the look of that coin. AU58 is respectable. I'd be pleased to own the coin. Congrats!
