Registry Etiquette (eBay)

Hopefully, this won't come across as an ad - it's not intended to be. My eBay ID is different than my board ID so hopefully, that helps my case.
I have a few low pop and even some Pop 1 cards of big name players (Emmitt, Marino, Favre, etc) up on eBay. I know with the 2010 award deadline approaching, there could be some good competition for these cards.
My question is, should I email the collectors who list their emails in the set registry for these players? I've sold hundreds of cards on eBay and never done that, but with times like they are, I don't want to leave any money on the table.
Is it worth it? Could it hurt more than help? Would you be irritated if you received an email giving you a heads up something for your registry?

Bull in a china shop emails do the opposite (Hi, thought you might be interested in these auctions...here's a link)
Taking an extra 5 minutes to do it right makes a HUGE difference.

I get them every once and a while, they don't bother me at all. As a matter of fact I appreciate them.
The ones that get me are those that tell me about every PSA 9 they have that would be an upgrade for me. Fine, except my set is entirely PSA 8. Now, if I have a set that was all PSA 8 with one card in PSA 7, I would TOTALLY appreciate the seller telling me they've located the one card that I would actually bother to upgrade (pipe dream, I know).

If I were you , I would take the time to do a little homework about the person who you are contacting , to see if you have something that they need. It REALLY gets on my nerves , when someone offers some krappy cards (low grade in a high grade set) or cards I no longer need.
I also wanted to add that I get 2-3 offers a month for items IN my sets , that others want. Its normally bottom feeders looking for an unemployed slob , hard up for money , looking to give their cards away. I am not that person.

I'll bet he's great fun to be around.
