Before you attempt a x-over to SGC . . . I did this recently w/ a vintage 8 o/c. All the attributes of a straight 8, but centering was 85-15 T-B. Thot it would pull at least 80, which was my mg. Came back as, "did not meet mg," which means SGC saw it as no better than a 70 - - a 4 grade drop!! This upset me, since SGC is super liberal on centering, as opposed to PSA. So, I'll be popping it and re-subbing it raw to PSA with a NQ request. I think you do better breaking them and submitting as raw.
depends, the sets I've collected SGC is a little easier on centering than PSA and much more than BGS, you might get surprised, def crack and sub though...

Going from PSA 8 OC to SGC 70 isn't a "4 grade drop." Given the qualifier, you're looking at a starting point of PSA 6 most often (without a qualifier). Hence it was more like a PSA 6 to and SGC 5. A 1 grade drop, not 4...
Looks like a 62 pt. raise to me.... (Just saying I am here).
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
For example, on the flip side, I recently crossed over a card from SGC 40 to PSA 9 MC. It all depends on how off the centering is.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
FWIW, I did that experiment a couple of years ago and 2 8OCs (both cracked out) went to an SGC-70 (5.5) and an SGC-80 (6). So, I'd agree that it really depends on how OC the cards are.

Yeah I was thinking 84 or 86 myself.

Agreed with those that say it depends on the card.
