Yard sales cards

Hi everyone this year i said i want to stop by more yard sales.
Today on my way to work i hit a yard sale, first one of the year. I looked around and they had some cool things but nothing i wanted then i walked up to the house and look at the small table with some small thing on it. I see a small stack of cards, 12 UD Griffey Rookies 1 1984 Fleer Puckett 1 1983 Boggs Rookie and 1 Brett Hull opc Rookie.
The guy gave one one great deal on the lot.
Then he says his girl friend has a large group of old cards from her uncle. I gave them my number, boy i sure hope they call soon.

<< <i>OK, I'll be Captain Obvious and ask. How much did you pay and could you show us some scans? Nice buy for sure, and hope the other deal comes through for you. Doug

Nice George!!
BTW, is smallon is a bit less than a largeon
He sold me the lot for $100. I will try and post some scans. Great deal in my book.
<< <i>Stevek... this guy cleans out houses and storage sheds. >>
That's great you found an interesting source for collectibles.
I think the bottom line is it's an odds game, there are no posts here about the many MANY thousands of times we all go to yard and estate sales and strike out...but that one in so many thousands gets lucky, finds something good at a bargain, and posts about it...and I enjoy reading about the good fortune...just wish it would happen to me once in awhile. LOL
<< <i>Sorry guys how do i post scans again? >>
Here's a link to a thread on posting here using PhotoBucket...
I also had my annual garage sale last weekend and we made $1,350. Mostly selling kids clothes. I did sell a virtually new poker chip set (the heavy one with case) for $20 that I bought earlier this year at a garage sale for $1.
There are still deals to be had at sales, but it's not like it used to be.
I actually discussed that with Bill Huggins about a year ago and he said it's because we trained a whole generation about the value of cards but not the same for the mem.

That's how come I'd like to hit more yard sales maybe fine more of the Board games /Gloves things like that.
yard sales & garage sales = false advertising. I've never once been able to purchase either a yard or a garage. Getting tired of the bait & switch from these small-time crooks.

Good for you!
<< <i>The great thing about 89 Upper Deck was their quality control, centering is awesome. >>
it's just hard to tell if they were part of the original print run or the millions UD printed when the card was hot!
