GAI (Global Authority) vs. GAI (Global Authentics)???

Hey guys. I am looking at picking up some autos on eBay and keep coming across COAs which say they are from a company out of Cali called GAI for Global Authentics. I know that GAI (Global Authority) is a recognized grader and authenticator but who the hell is this other GAI? Should I avoid at all costs? Also I always go w/ PSA/DNA autos but the 2 I am trying to pickup for gifts are not available right now.

Thanks

  • I think it's the new company since they folded. I know GA is for packs and cards and think GAI is the auto authentication.

I'd be wary of most autographs authenticated by GAI/GA...
  • I'd be wary of any auto that I do not witness in first-person. A third-party authentication means nada to me.

I'd stay far away from GAI autos. if you get an old one with the cert signed by Mike Guiterrez (SP?) it should be fine. justin priddy was okay too. anyone else - especially ones with mike baker on them - stay away
