Help!! 2005 Ryan Zimmerman Upper Deck Trilogy /150

I have two of these card, both numbered to 150. One has a gray/silver signature and the other has a blue signature. I have looked at the Beckett guide and pop report and PSA pop report. Can't figure out if this is a variation or what. Or is it like the 1998 rookie ink Peyton Manning, where most are blue ink and a few are black ink. Has anyone else noticed this or have an explanation. Thanks for any insight you can provide.image

    do you have scans ?

are both the silver., or is one the bronze insert ?

there were multiple auto's for Zimmerman with RZ on the back bronze, silver, gold etc., that may have been /150

kind of hard to tell as I don't have multiples...

    anyone else ?

According to Beckett's OPG, there are only 3 versions of the card, all with RZ on the back:

    Silver - #/150
    Bronze - #/35
    Gold - #/15

I'd recommend scanning both sides of both cards and posting them here.

  • I'm pretty sure the color of the ink doesn't mean anything.

There are Generations Future (along with Past and Present) Bronze, Silver, and Gold autos...all numbered according to the print run of the card itself (not the ink). The only difference between the cards is the color of the background on the bottom behind "Generations Future (or Past or Present) Signatures." For instance, you can tell that the Ozzie below is a Generations Past Signature SILVER based solely on its bottom background color (and serial number). Since BOTH of your Zimmermans are numbered to /150, both should have a silver bottom background like the Ozzie. There are no other "official" variations other than the bottom background color (which is also reflected by the serial number).

I think that this is more like the Peyton Manning situation you previously described. With that being said, if Zim ends up having an awesome HOF career, you might have a pretty valuable unofficial variation. Presently, though, I don't think the color of the ink matters too much. Regardless, you still have two awesome high value cards.
