Score Baseball sets

Does anyone know how many years Score made base card sets for baseball. My research shows from 1988-1998. I am going to put together all the Yankees team sets from score and need to know which years to look at. This is one part of the hobby that i love because i can buy a bunch of cards at a show and only spend a few dollars instead of when I was looking for my mantles and had to drop a few hundred for 1 card.

Uggh...that's one card company that is not missed by the hobby. That was a decade worth of crapola.

I liked 1990 Score. Good looking set.

I loved the '88 Score set - especially the rookie/traded update.

Even though its overproduced, I also love the 88 Score set. There are some great action pictures in that set.

I did the same thing a few years ago with my Cardinals team sets. Yes, Score was in the game form 1988 - 1998. I am looking at my Score Cardinals album now and there isn't one single card worth over $0.25. Not sure if it was the crappy Cardinals teams of the 90's, the Score brand, mass production, or a combination of the three.

I started to say that I remember one team set in particular in the mid to late 90's that was tough to get, but I think it was Upper Deck. Anyway, sportlots.com (if you didn't already know) will have everyone of those cards you need.

i liked score, i think a lot of the dead brands were as innovative as UD and Topps, but it came at a price...

I always like Score. there cards were worth hardly anything but they alsways had cool pictures and/or special cards. At a few local shows there are dealers with boxes of cards broken down by teams for $.05 a piece. i saw a bunch of score in there so I figured for a few bucks I would add on to my Yankee team card collection. I am only missing 2 cards from the 2003 and 2002 Topps Traded to have every Yankee card produced by Topps from 1967 to 2010. Sportlots does not have them and ads in the magazines do not have them. Is there any other places to check for them?

Also, checkout Beckett Marketplace. It is a close second to sportlots.

I started to challenge you to go all the way back to 1951 Topps, but then I realized that your collection is a Yankees team collection. Seems like there might be a few expensive cards to get from the early 50's. image

I just went on Beckett marketplace and paid $3.30 for shipping on 1 common Topps card that i needed from 2003. The total was $4.30 for a Shelly Duncan. I know i over paid but it was only a few dollars and now I am now down to one more topps card to have every team set since 1967. Sportlots, Beckett, and checkoutmycards.com all only had the gold or chrome ones. If I can't find the regular edition of the 2002 Topps Traded #21 Raul Mondesi I will get the gold version. Thanks for the leads on other sites.

  • And in case you did not see on ebay, there is someone selling the Yankees team cards from the 02 Traded series all in chrome for 4+2 s&h including Mondesi. Maybe it would update others and be worth it for you. All out of ideas after that one. Good luck
  • love the 88 set as well as the 90' set.

I love Checkoutmycards.com, but I have one gripe, you pay an extra .25 PER CARD, plus a flat shipping fee when you want to get your cards shipped back. Keep that in mind if you're picking up commons.

sportlots.com is the BEST for getting a lot of worthless commons.
