We never know I guess
Enjoy life while you can. I got a reminder tonight that we truly never know what each new day will bring. My uncle Hollis passed away today. I went out to my parents today to have lunch with my mom for Mother's Day and my grandmother joined us as well. My grandmother's son (my uncle) was playing golf this AM so he wasn't there, but he went to my grandmother's house when he got through playing golf. Tonight when I got home, I got a call and my grandmother had found her son dead when she got back home. He was 63 and apparently had a heart attack. I just got back from going out there. He looked quiet at peace just sitting in a chair with one leg kicked up on the bed and looked like he was leaning back reading the paper. My uncle was always pretty good to me while I was growing up. My personal family didn't have a whole lot of money, but every year, he would give me one of the "official" balls that they played with in the pros, IE, a real football, basketball, etc., for Christmas, and he would always tape a $100 bill to the other side of the ball in the box. He knew how much I loved sports. I haven't seen him much lately, but we've played golf a couple times together the last few years. RIP Hollis. My grandmother went through a nightmare on Mother's Day, and my mom lost her brother. Please pray for my mom and grandmother, they are truly the ones with the loss.
Thanks,
Mike

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

RIP Uncle Hollis
Like you said in your title, we never know. Use your uncle's passing as a reminder to tell your family members how much you love them every time you see them. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Being a probate and estate planning attorney there is not a day that goes by that I do not talk about death. On the one hand you get used to and on the other hand it is always a reminder that life is too short!

The Moody Blues had , as part of one of their songs , the words --" True life flies , faster than eyes can ever see". Also they have a song called "Candle of Life " , of which its primary message is "To burn slowly the candle of life".
Life is so fast , and yet if we take the time to enjoy what GOD has given to us , both good and bad , then we can truely be full of days , as the old saying goes.
