What is the best base set of 2010?

i'm looking to buy a gift for my 1 year old nephew.. something to keep sealed and maybe when he old enough to collect on his own he can rip.. or keep sealed or whatever... back in the day... i would just buy the topps factory set...call it a day.. but now it seems like those are terrible investments.. you pay 60 bucks for this years set.. and in 2 years it will be selling for 15 on ebay. it seems like sealed boxes hold their value and even increase if there is a big rookie.. like 2001 topps chrome.. or 1993 SP... anyways i was wondering what everyones thoughts were on the 2010 products.. what sets have all of the rookies ect...
Scans of most of my Misc rookies can be found <a target=new class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://forums.collectors.com/m...y&keyword1=Non%20major">here

For future value I'd go with something with prospects...2010 Bowman is out this week I think and it has the first certified autos of a lot of big hopefuls. If not prospects, Allen & Ginter is due in a couple of months.

I'm weening myself off modern rips but 2010 Bowman might be my last hoorah.

I always buy the Topps complete set from the year the the child was born. Even if the "book value" goes down I think it is cool to have the set of baseball cards from the year you were born. If you are truely looking for investment get them a savings bond. But the set is something cool I feel.

  • For my nephew I've been getting him a psa 9 rookie of his favorite Brewer. Three years running now he really seems to be getting into card collecting. I did make a mistake and showed him some vintage Milwaukee players this weekend. That if he gets into might cost me a bit more than a psa 9 Trevor Hoffman. image
