Top 3 Cards In Each Sport

I'm thinking of trying to collect the top cards from each of the major sports (football, basketball, baseball, and maybe hockey). I'd like two lists, first the top 3 cards period, and the second would be the ones in the "affordable" range (<$2000/card) for a card with eye appeal. That is, T206 Honus Wagner, you are out for the second list. There was already a thread on the football cards recently, so here's the list that I seem to see. (This would be a popularity contest; ie., if you polled 500 serious card collectors.) I'd like to hear the other opinions too.

Please don't include Gretzky rookies on a top 3 hockey card list. His cards are VERY common and easily attainable. Not to take anything away from him or his accomplishments, but there are many cards that are more desirable. He just happens to be that popular.
Too many honorable mentions. Bobby Hull, Gordie Howe, Maurice Richard, Eddie Shore, Newsy Lalonde, Cyclone Taylor, King Clancy, etc.
