RIP Ernie Harwell

fantastic broadcaster, and more importantly a good man. I only had the pleasure of listening to him from time to time, but it was always a treat.

Very sad. RIP.
Kiss me twice.....let's party.
The guy was 92 and lived a wonderful life that any one of us would have felt blessed for.
RIP Mr. Harwell.

We've lost George Kell, Mark the Bird, and now Ernie in a short time. Those 3 alone have provided a lifetime of good memories for Detroiters. We have been truly blessed.
<< <i>Costas did one of those hour long sit down interviews on the MLB Network with Harwell a few months ago. I'm sure they will be re-running it over the next day or two. I highly recommend checking that out. I love Scully and Uecker, but Harwell is right there in my top 3. >>
4:00 EST tomorrow on the MLB Network

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

I actually saw that special last week on MLB network - what a great man to listen to talk about his life in baseball. It was taped during last year's World Series and he said he did not think he'd see the beginning of the 2010 season - I'm glad he did get to see one more opening day.
RIP Ernie.
sad day, i spent 3 years in the D listening to him, he'll be missed
