2010-11 football products

Hey guys,
Simple queston. I never really collect football cards (except errors) but I am a huge Rams fan and want to start a nice Sam Bradford collection.
When does the frist product usually come out ?
Soon or after the season starts?
And what should I avoid ?
thx

Panini website says their NFL products will start coming out this month (Prestige) and next month (Donruss Elite). Topps originally was planning to have some of their products out already--but temporarily losing their license apparently caused some delays.
I will try to get the Sage and Press Pass cards but I like the good stuff.....
What is the best site for release dates ?
thx

I'm sure there are some comprehensive sites that generate lists of all the manufacturers release dates in one listing. I personally have always just visited the direct sites of the manufacturer (Topps, Upper Deck, Pannini/Donruss, Press Pass, etc.) All of them have their own websites, and you can easily find them doing a Google or Yahoo search for "Topps Official website", or any company that you are looking for.
Good luck with the collection.
2010 Donruss Elite
2010 Panini Prestige set to be released next week.

After a few estranged months, Topps and the NFL are back together again.
The company announced on Thursday morning that the long-running football card manufacturer that had been stripped of its NFL card license back in November is back on the gridiron.
The pact is a multi-year agreement with both the NFL and NFL PLAYERS.
“We are excited to continue our deep, long standing partnership with the NFL and the NFLPA,” said Ryan O’Hara, Topps’ CEO. “Topps will bring innovative, exciting and fun products to the marketplace to serve consumers and customers well.”
The first product will be the standard Topps set, which will arrive just before the start of the season. After that, it will release Platinum, Finest and Triple Threads
More statements:
“For more than a half century, football fans have been able to connect with the NFL and their favorite players through Topps football cards,” said Leo Kane VP of consumer products at the NFL. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with Topps, bringing our fans collectibles for many years to come.”
“Topps has been instrumental in establishing the player-fan connection for more than 50 years,” said Keith Gordon, President of NFL PLAYERS. “We’re excited about the direction Topps is headed and are eager to see new products that will further enable football collectors to connect with our players.”
“This year’s Topps Football will be our best ever as it will be loaded with amazing content and truly deliver NFL rookies and stars,“said Warren Friss, Topps’ GM of Sports and Entertainment. “It will also include a special Gridiron Giveaway promotion, which will allow collectors to unlock vintage Topps football cards and win various football prizes.”
