In general, is an NGC PR69DCAM* (star) coin worth more than a PCGS PR69DCAM?

Of course you need to see the coin, but in general terms (considering all things being equal) is an NGC star PR69DCAM worth more than a simple PCGS PR69DCAM?
Is the " * " designation meaningful to you?
I admit, I like it. I've owned a few and they are truly pretty coins.

    I've seen NGC 69* DCAM coins go for considerably less than PCGS 69 DCAM on ebay; thus, they appear to be "worth" less. However, I believe this to be due to the "registry effect" and thus may actually be better coins and a much better value.

    NGC has come up with a "*" to designate high-end 69s which aren't quite 70s.

    I believe the Star (*) is to designate a coin that is supposedly PQ for ANY grade, not just MS/PR69 coins.

    Hopefully, these are coins that, except for a single small flaw, would have graded the next grade up.

    Never seen a NGC PR69DCAM (with or without a star). Lots of PF69 Ultra Cameo's though.

    Since the star designation is based on eye appeal, which tends to be rather subjective and difficult to detect in a venue such as eBay, it makes sense that they aren't bringing more money then a PCGS slab in the same grade.

    It would seem though that when a second party- someone who has no attachment to the coin tells you it is PQ, that would carry more weight.
    So far, I like the NGC star program and am glad it's now branched out to cover almost all series.

    Don't know that you can equate what NGC considers exceptional "eye appeal" with PQ? Or "just missing" the next grade. I have a number of NGC * coins including a 1972 MS68* IKE and several MS66* Franklins... every one (in my opinion) DOES have exceptional eye appeal, so I guess it is like everything else - assumed value is in the eye of the person holding the slab.

    just show me both same grade slabbed coins the star ngc coin and the pcgs coin without a star and then i can tell you which one i would choose
