Does the sport's season matter when it comes to ebay?

For instance, would a Ted Williams card often sell for more on ebay during baseball season or will it be the same even during football season? And is it the same way for other sports?
Thanks for your help everyone.

It wouldn't matter since he is retired and dead.

For current players it may matter.

I agree. Collectors of vintage are always looking. I collect football and do an ebay search every 2-3 days looking for particular HOFers I don't have. I have no interest in modern cards which would probably be affected by the season and player performance.

I can guarantee that there is more interest in sports other than the big 3 when they are in action. For example, if you are selling an Olympic item, the Olympics is the time to do it. During the Stanley Cup playoffs, there is much more interest in hockey cards. I have gotten a lot of deals on hockey HOFers in the middle of August.
