Vintage Beauties! Scans of the raw cards bought yesterday!

Here are scans of several raw cards I bought yesterday. Hope you enjoy, I know I do. The lot looks like the lowest would grade an PSA 7 and I know there are several 8's in there.
Thanks,
Bob

  • I don't collect vintage myself, but have seen pleanty of them to know there are some good grades in there. I wouldn't be surprised if you got at least one Mint 9!!!

Congrats and good luck with your grades image

  • Amazing cards Bob. Those '53s are stellar.......in fact all the cards are. Are these the cards from the card shop friend?

Yes they are. I bought a total of 36 cards and these are just the ones I decided to post pics of. The gentleman he bought them from opened the packs back then and put the cards in boxes and just plyed with the dupelicates he had. I sure hope the guy brings in more........
    Thanks,
    Bob

I dont like the right side of the Jackie Robinson, and I hope it is just your scanner. Other than that, they are all quite nice (especially the '53s). The centering on the Slaughter is remarkable.

    Wow!

Who in the world even sells raw cards that nice anymore?
  • Very nice pickup, I would take them anyday.

I didn't want to say anything but the top left on the Sauer looks a little wierd.

It is the scanner. Here is another scan a little less tilted.

Yes I see with the Slaughter. My scanner is very finicky. If the card is just slightly tilted, it shows up thet way. Check both scans of the Robinson. You can see the difference.

But you still don't want to share and say where the shop is as I asked in the other thread?

Hey, I'm just kiddin' with ya...if I found a card shop that was offering me nice cards like that at decent prices, I wouldn't share it either until i bought every last card I could from him. LOL

I think I may have figured it out. Is the card shop owner's name initials A.F. ?

Sweet Cards! PSA is brutal on the 55 Bowmans, but some of the 53 Topps look like maybe a '9' or so.....
  • milbrocomilbroco Posts: 2,773 ✭✭✭✭
Well, most of the cards are on their way to PSA so its the waiting game now.

The gentleman sold more to my friend and I was there today and bought more. I don't think I did as good as the first bunch but I still think I did good. I will take posession of them after payment tomorrow or Monday and will post additional scans.

Some of the things I picked up today were a lot of 1952 Bowman that are in the condition of the 1951 Vander Meer but these have a very very small wax stain on the reverse. I think this was about 34 cards in the PSA 7 range.

Also picked up a lot of about 24 1953 Bowman Color Football. Most would be in the PSA 7 range with a few lower in the PSA 5 range and a few higher maybe hitting the PSA 8 area.

I also bought a few stars in the 1953 Bowmans but can't remember who they are right now. I can't remember much else but I did buy quite a bit.

Thanks for looking and I will get more scans up as soon as possible.

    Thanks,
    Bob
