Autograph grades, do they help or hurt your card?

PSA does not provide autograph grades currently and BGS does. Does this hurt PSA? Does and autograph grade make the card more valuable? Has Beckett provided a service that sets them apart from PSA? Let me know your thoughts.image

  • Think PSA does grade autos, it is mentioned on the site.

IMO, autograph grades are stupid. I can see that with my own eyes.

I agree that autograph grades are kind of stupid. I think it can also be misleading to uneducated buyers in thinking they are buying a higher grade card than they really are.

they will grade either the auto or the card not both. you either get the auto graded or the card graded/auto authenticated by PSA/DNA

they will grade a ball and an auto together however by PSA/DNA.

not quite sure why they cant grade both the card and the auto like beckett does.

what this does is that it in general keeps most auto'd cards out of the autograph set of the year category (from the PSA/DNA side). what that means is that the auto'd set of the year is based on the auto grading. hence if a card is graded but not the auto its not allowed in the set.
