Well I will respond here then - Dmitri Young (the baseball player) has a stunning collection and apparently gets all of his cards slabbed as part of his collection. Others probably know what his user ID is on ebay. I can tell you this probably isn't it unless Dmitri bought the Hangover used on ebay. Sorry I can't be more help. Pete
Looking for rare Randy Moss rookies and autos, as well as '97 PMG Red Football cards for my set.
I didn't think Dmitri Young sold his cards. I thought it was one of the collections where once a PSA 10 went into it, it didn't come back out. Obviously that's not Dmitri Young selling the Jeter, so I'd stay far far away.
The seller does not do alot of transactions, so the 1 negative has brought his overall score down. His DSR of 4.8, 4.8, 4.8, 4.9 make you wonder. His few items for sale are all decent cards though. Did you check the certs on any of his other items?
Well I can't say 100% that the cert I found is correct. It is very hard to see the cert# on that auction. I sent the seller a PM thru ebay asking for the cert# on the card. It looks like the cert is definitely 0X157303 where the X is looks like a 5 or a 6 but when I put in the # 8 thats when the D. Young variation on the card came up. 5 or 6 come up as non 93 SP jeter cards. LOL
I do agree that I don't see Dmitri selling his cards either...perhaps the card and auction are legit, but the means through which the card was secured is not?

Well here are the red flags that make me hesitant.
1) the seller has 98.8% FB 1 Neg that says "I cannot give a positive feedback when the product was not shipped as listed." but it was left from a noob with only 6 FB
2) the auction is a 3 day auction. If I were going to sell the card I would use 9 day auction and a reserve. This makes me think the card might be stolen w/ the mind set of auction it quick take money and run.
3) The cert# is not clearly visible I ran thru all the cert and the only possible # it could be from the pic is cert# 08157303
4) The slab could be a counterfeit with a stolen cert#
Maybe I am just being paranoid. The thing is there are only 9 of these in this grade. 2 are up on registry and 4 others I have seen sell on other auction sites. so I have seen 6 of the 9 cards that exist. All certs I have seen have not been this cert so far.
I agree everything looks bad. Thank you everyone you have been most helpful. I am leaning towards it being a low grade card or possible fake card in a fake slab with a stolen cert. I am still waiting to see if the seller responds to my pm asking for the cert#. I am not holding my breath. I am going to call PSA maybe they can shed a little light or at least be aware.
Just got off the phone with PSA. They can't do anything without a better scan. Could someone ask the seller for a better scan? I can't since I already asked for the cert. If I email the guy again it might make the seller aware he is going to get caught.
<< <i>I asked for a scan, because it's an obvious fake and I'm interested to see what response (if any) I get >>
Cnote if the seller does give you a scan please share. I doubt I will get a reply on my cert request.
I ran thru all cert possibilities for the 2 numbers I can't see distinctly
These number I do know for sure are
0X1X7303
I tried every number 0-9 where the X is in the cert, ran every possible combination. There is only one possible # that matches a 93 SP Jeter PSA 10 and it is
08157303
As al032184 mentioned the label should have DMITRI YOUNG COLLECTION on the slab. My phone call to PSA confirmed that cert# 08157303 would have DMITRI YOUNG COLLECTION on the label. I think Kat is correct as well. It looks like the top of the slab has been tampered w/ and the label has been swapped. If you look at the picture of the front. It looks like the slab was pried open on the top right to make a label switch.
I ran across this guy's auctions last night before I saw this thread and I decided it was best to stay away. The thing to sticks out to me is that all the scans or pictures have different backgrounds. Looks like your basic stolen pics scam. I could be wrong, but it's not worth the gamble IMO.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
Also, Dmitri Young has sold cards before, but I've only heard of him doing it through auction houses. The seller's ID is definitely not Dmitri's (or, more accurately, the one his buying agent uses).

I earlier reported his auctions as using stolen scans, based on an earlier thread started by OTW, who apparently owned one of the cards in the stolen scans. I'm sure others reported them too, and ebay correctly pulled them

I have a bad feeling about this seller. Even though he did sell a 54 Aaron RC PSA 8 for $3,850.00 and got positive FB.
Scam? Not a Scam?
Your thoughts on this
.. And I thought it would say 'Young Collection' on the slab.

Yeah, okay.
These should all be reported. This person doesn't have any of these cards.
