Welcome to Target Field, Twins!

Wish I could've been at the first game today. I heard the Twins beat the Red Sox, too! Bonus!

I saw some pics at this FoxSports.com site. Nice!!

Beautiful field - good too see the Twins get all the firsts: run, home run, win. I think it's so freakin' cool that Joe Mauer grew up 10 miles from the field. Dude is living every boy's dream, playing (and starring) for his favorite team.
  • The kid that caught the first home run lives about 20 minutes from me. They gave him a whole pile of stuff to get the ball back.

I'm ecstatic - going to the game Friday night, and will be taking the lightrail down (live a mile from the rail). This years Twins team has some moxie. And btw - before the season the Twins were 18-1 odds to win the World Series. Now? 6-1 according to my friend who was out in Vegas this weekend. That's a wee bit optimistic.

That Puckett statue is cool. Hey, shouldn't Chuck make an appearance at the new stadium? image

Hoping to get to at least a few games this year. I went inside during their season ticket holder open house and was pretty impressed!

I was at the game yesterday. I had been to Target Field a couple of other times for the exibition games against the Cardinals but this game was much more special. The weather was perfect and the field looked pristine. I heard the 13 year old kid who cought Kubel's homerun received a signed authentic Joe Mauer away jersey. He also will have his picture displayed at Target Field forever.
Always looking to buy old Minnesota Twins and Vikings memorabilia like Nodders, Photo Pennants, and Photo Buttons.

Local news said he also got several other signed balls, they let him meet the players for about 10 minutes and he gets to come back at a later date for an on-field meet and greet with the players.
  • Great stadium! Now we just need to get the Rays out of the Trop and MLB will be dome free!!!!!

Would you count Minute Maid park in Houston and The Rogers Centre in toronto as domes?

    Aren't they both retractable roof?

Safeco in Seattle, Chase in AZ and Miller in Milwaukee, are retractable as well. You can technically say it's a dome, but they only represent the one good thing about a dome...protection from rain!

edit: The Marlins new stadium will be retractable too, as well as any new Rays stadium. Afternoon showers are inevitable in FL over the summer.

I'm soooo jealous of you all that live so dang close. It's a little out of my way coming from Oregon.

I'm sure my four bros in MN will be there sooner than me! image
