Basic Clemente - 19 Down and 1 to GO!

Hey everyone,
I'm fairly new to the Registry Forums, but I was excited to add another card to my Basic Clemente Set. I just picked up a nice '62 Clemente in PSA 6. I know have 12 of the 20 cards. Hopefully, I'll get some nice Ebay gift cards for Christmas and use them to get something else.

Congrats!!! Though never a Pirates fan, Clemente is one of my all-time favorites. It was amazing to watch him roam the outfield. Good luck on your quest!

Thanks everyone! I'm hoping for some Ebay gift cards for Christmas...I'm hoping to finish the last 8 in PSA 5-6-7s and the 55 in anything really. Then over time just keep upgrading.

Edited: BPorter - I was excited for you when you finished your set earlier this year. I'm going to be looking for one of those cases too.

Does anybody know if it is possible to watch "old games" somewhere on-line? Your comment about him roaming the outfield makes me want to watch a few games if possible.

Pdub look up MBMiller25 when you want to buy one of those cases. I would like to upgrade my 59 as well as my 55 in the near future.

Congrats on picking up a nice card there! (Although I am partial to the '62Ts!)

Don't store your cards in a safe without some kind of protection. Just tonight I was putting something away in the metal drawer in my safe where I keep my best cards. I ended up putting a looooong ugly scratch on my '62 PSA 7 Roberto. It makes me sick to look at that card. I'm going to have to have it re-slabbed...

Two more Clemente's for my set.....and two more in the mail...

I would like to get the 1965 in an 8, but the centering on the 6.5 was so nice I couldn't pass it up.

The back was what caused the lower grade I believe.

Nice job on the 1965 and 1963 pickups, your moving along nicely with your set. I have been stuck in nuetral with my set. I let a georgous 1968 Clemente PSA 8 go by this past Sunday that I kick myself for not bidding on. Oh well!

I received one more card in the mail today: 1964 Clemente...I'm still waiting for the 59.
The 64 looks beautiful from the front, but the back is OC.

Anyone know what a card like this goes for?

Here is my latest Clemente, a special thanks to Matt (MBMiller25) for the card through the BST.

It was an upgrade from a PSA 6 I have.

I still need four more, so if anyone has any I'm looking for please let me know.

My dad was a die hard Yankees fan; but Clementes' name was spoken with reverence in our house. A great player and an even better human being. What a fantastic arm in right field.

Nice pickups for your Clemente set. Great looking cards all around, but I really like the '59 Topps and the '63 Fleer the best...

Thank you. I just picked up the '68 in a PSA 8...I've been waiting forever to get one and finally one showed up on Ebay (that was up for auction). I'll post a scan when I get it in the mail. Now I only have 3 more to go.

Here is my last Clemente purchse for a while...

The reason being is that the ONLY card I have left is THE rookie. I'm going to have to save up for a while to get that! I'm going to be patient though, because I know it is going to be worth it in the end.

Nice 66, where's a pic of the 63 Topps? The 63 has been one of my favorite Clemente cards. Good Luck with the rookie. What grade are you looking for? I have a PSA 4, I might be willing to part with if your interested in.

I'm hoping to come into some extra cash before the summer, but who knows...I'm a teacher and I'm not really suppose to spend that kind of money during the summer...but then again....I really do want that rookie!
