Japan 47 Prefectures Coin Program - anyone try to get the 500 Yen clads from banks in Japan?

1) I see a few of the 500 Yen uncirculated commems for the Prefectures program are showing up in Ebay listings in flips. One of the sellers says the ones in his listings came from a roll.

So they're available to buy raw for face from banks in-country? Cool! Anyone try it yet?

2) From various sources, here are pictures of some of the coins from the first two years of the program, 2008 and 2009. Feel free to find and post pictures of the new ones for 2010.

With 47 prefectures with both a clad and a proof version, so far I 've given it a pass. I did get the Hokkaido one only as I do love the cranes (look like storks to me...) and then I started getting tempted by the Shimane one. Then I did the math. 47 prefectures at $100+ a pop, well that was some nice other coins I'd rather have, without the storage concerns.

I have no Japanese speaking coin nerd friends here but I will try to figure the answer aout about the rolls/clads. I've yet to see any in actual circulation.

I have gone to a couple of local shops, and didn't notice--but I wasn't looking either.

If I'm really lucky I will get to go to the big Tokyo coin show in May (whoa, just realized it's three weeks from now...) and will keep my eyes and ears open. There are quite a few dealers who speak most excellent English. I can say Nihingo-ga wakarimasen. Eigo-ga wakarimaska, which theoretically means "I don't understand Japanese, do you understand English"? I can also direct a cab to my house. Other than the most basic pleasantries, I am very poor at languages.
