Want anyone's opinion on these autographed sports cards

Alright, before I get way too detailed and intertwine fact and my own opinion, I'll go ahead and separate the two and show scans as evidence.

FACT: There is a seller who is posting hundreds and hundreds of signed sports cards (no photos, no other memorabilia, only cards) and these are going up in auctions on ebay and other sites as well. This seller claims many of them were sent through the mail at one point or another (and let's face it, Jordan, LeBron, etc just do not sign their mail). They also have several duplicates of the same ones over and over. The listings also go very cheap and he is selling them for only a few bucks each on average. One example: Tom Brady and Kevin O'Connell signed card lot goes for $4.59.
I even tried reporting this guy to the sites, but they just sit back and do absolutely nothing at all.

OPINION: I believe they are all forgeries, if it's too good to be true, it usually is. There is no way you can consistently buy Tom Brady, Kevin Garnett, Payne Stewart, and other big names for only a few bucks here and there. There's just an endless supply of these same players and more it seems. Most of them look way off in my opinion.
The even more sad part is people keep on bidding away on his items, probably ignorant about the whole situation believing they have just scored a legit item and will cherish it as so, more fakes flooding the market.

Ok.. see for yourselves..... (I took the images of the scans and cropped some of them and shrunk them a bit as they were way too large... I then posted them in my photobucket for people to view)

Highly suspect signatures and when you throw in quantities and ending price, it seems that no one is really fooled by them but still bidding just in case. I'm guessing the 86-87 is a reprint or counterfeit card as it is very cheap and easy to take cards and forge them since they don't cost much. I think saying you got the item TTM is a nice cover story because if they come up as fake when you authenticate, they'll go back and say that it was a TTM.

I was thinking the Murray was fake too. Was just looking at it on the National site last night and he has much better handwriting in this version.

can you tell us who the seller is? I'd also be curious what state he's selling from...

I purchased 3 auto's off a guy on Overstock. He sent me my cards plus 3 additional. I sent all 6 in to PSA/DNA and they all came back "? Authentic" If he was legit, I would expect 1 or 2 to come back fake, but all 6??? When i questioned him about it, he was very quick to fwd me a bunch of emails with articles about how the grading card companies are scamming everyone. It's funny cause all the articles he sent me were published by the same guy. And that guy is a known fraud in the industry...

Anyway, I reported him to Overstock (he was kicked off) and I even took it a step further and reported him to the Ohio State Attorney's office. They investigated him but as someone above said, they just claim TTM and they are off the hook.

the jeter looks way to loopy to me i wouldn't touch it.

Also looks like the Garnett, Rodman, Jeter, Pujols, Schmidt , and Brady all where done with the same blue marker LOL...

These are obviously not legit. Look at the "D of Dennis (rodman) and the "D" of Derek (jeter) It's the same D.
It looks like the same person signed the Pippen, Rodman, and probably the Tiger Woods - same scruntchy penmanship
I'm not even remotely close to being an expert, but I wouldn't touch any of that stuff.

the reason a lot of sellers are on sites such as Overstock is that they were already kicked off eBay and are just looking for another venue to sell their garbage..

think about it, if you had legit signatures of these athletes, why wouldn't you put them on eBay where thousands of more people would look at it?

  • His ID is falcon60 on a site called onlineauction.com

I'm not sure if its the same person or just someone who bought from him... but they are definitely from the same source because they look exactly the same as this other guy's supply...

Sounds like it could be the same guy actually. This person was also quick to throw articles my way about how some magazine did a write up on his collection. First off, no telling if that's really the same person in the article, I could find any Joe Schmo article and claim it's me.

He was also quick to state what a joke PSA and every other company is too. People like him are ruining the autograph hobby. So pathetic.
