53 Topps 8 O/C Tough Card...you guys think I could get a 7NQ?

Hi everyone,

This is one of the tougher short print high number cards from the 53 set that goes for $400 to $500 in a PSA 7. This cards looks really nice to me and is centered side to side almost perfectly. Has geat eye appeal and this card is notoriously off center. You guys think I could get a straight 7? Also, the back is perfectly centered so no issues there.

    IMHO I don't think so. Too much OC. I have same problem with a low pop 60 common in PSA 8 OC. Nicest 8 I have seen. Doesn't have print lines etc. that are usual on that card, but is just OC.

    Jeff ... it does have very nice eye appeal ... but, IMO, there is no way you get that into a "7" slab with the t/b centering.

    I'm not so sure on that. I think sometimes they are a bit more lenient on top/bottom than side to side. I sent in a 1963 Mays last year that was a 6. I pre-graded it a 6, but it was probably worse top/bottom than that one. It came back a 6, no qualifiers. I think I'd take a shot at it. If your card came back a 6 or 6.5 NQ would that be a big issue for you?

    No. 8 OC is the best you're going to do with that one. Nice card though.

    I agree, it's borderline MC, keep it where it is.
