question from a newbie - crossovers?

Hello everyone, I am fairly new to collecting graded cards and have spent last couple months reading the boards here to learn some things. I only pick up PSA cards and have a question about other brands. Would a BCCG card in 10 be a definate PSA 10? I have been able to locate a few that I want in BCCG but not PSA, I am only grabbing 10's so it makes it a little harder. I have started a John Smoltz master set and am looking for ways to fill it. Thanks in advance.

  • Have never had one from them crossover even close. I've had a 2 grade drop on most and some wouldn't grade. To me if a card is gradeable it would already be in a PSA slab. Just my experience.

Hi, hello, how are ya? image
If you want PSA cards it is best to purchase already graded by PSA cards. There is not a lot of happiness crossing over to PSA but there is a lot of expense. JMO

    on a good day.

If you want to buy BCCG (which I don't suggest, EVER) make sure you can see them in hand before you buy BCCG is a bulk submission center, with minimal time spent on grading. Most card are in BCCG because they won't grade well in BGS or PSA

Assuming the BCCG card is authentic and unaltered (which is not always the case) I generally compare BCCG 10 with PSA 7s although every card is different. When buying a card graded by BCCG assume the card is raw and ignore the grade.

Look for BGS or SGC... they are the only other companies imo that you'll have a shot a decent cross over.
