Before I Waste a Phone Call to E-Bay..Anybody Got an Answer??

Good Day,
E-Bay buys BIN card, doesnt pay 2 weeks, send three reminder invoices. No answer, open case with E-bay wait another week-10 days, no payment, close case give buyer NPB strike.
Then buyer emails, I made payment a week ago, look in your Paypal. Look and find an E-Check still not cleared, made 3 1/2 weeks after BIN end.
Guy seems to be OK, some card shop in PA, asks nicely. asks me to rescind NPB strike....First question...Can I do that? After the case is closed? Would you? Can this guy somehow neg me?
I don't have a problem giving the guy a break....Just don't want it to turn into a nightmare (Time consuming) on my end to bend over backwards for the guy. He should have just paid in a timely manner !
I spend too much time on the phone with E-Bay as it is and don't want to again.
Thanks
Neil

Frankly, paypal blows and so does their customer service. Their reps cannot answer basic questions.
I believe if you filed the NBPA and the buyer didn't respond, they cannot drill you with a negative at all. At least that's what ebay says.
Ebay + paypal = a winning combination (not)
As far as the buyer goes, if their payment clears finally, I would ship them the item and close the claim out.
My two cents.
be on day 2 for all we know.
To answer his question I'd simply tell the guy that the case had closed before the echeck was made (if that was the case)
and that he can ask them to drop the NPB thingy if it is his first time.
If it isn't his first time they generally don't. At that point depending on the amount of the transaction I'd either follow through with it
or not even bother replying to him.

...but if you hit the BIN button and drag payment out for more than a day or two... you get what you have coming!
Duty... the ball's in your court, but breaks don't come easy for a payment "attempted" to be made 3 and a half weeks after he hit the BIN button.
I'm guessing this is a low-$$ transaction... I'd probably just drop it and add him to your blocked bidders list.
...Edited because I'm still learning to spell...
ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!
<< <i>Sounds like the buyer had no intention of paying at all and perhaps this was strike three for him on the NPB ledger. Plus, if you recind the strike, he may be able to "stop payment" on the e-check and you will get nothing + a neg. >>
Good Answer, and the scenario I am paranoid about!! Where can you see if/how many Strikes they have? I have never, Not Paid for an Item, so don't even know what that looks like!!!!
Neil
P. S. Guy is on my BBL already (3 minutes after first E-Mail), I don't have time to Fool with Fools and follow Storms advice....Block and then if worried Block and Block!!!! Never try to re-hab a Buyer/Transaction.!!!!

The timeline doesn't work for me. If he paid when he said he did, then that check should have showed before you did the NPB. He hurried up and paid after the NPB, then didn't realize you could see when he actually did make it.

Morning,
You are right, the payment was made after I opened the NPB case. As for not being notified by Paypal on the E-Check not cleared, that is a completely seperate issue with Paypal that I have complained about for going on 6 months, about 1 in 20 payments to me are never followed up with an E-Mail. They have acknowledged the issue at least Three times, but have no reason or solution.

Using BINs with Immediate Payment Required is an easy
way to avoid NPBs.
You can make a global change to listing terms in TL, or you
can pick/choose items to run a test on the efficacy of the
change.
................................
In the instant case, I would refund the buyer and have no
further contact with him.
EBAY will likely remove the buyer's strike, and he will not
be able to leave FB if he failed to respond - or responded
inadequately - to the NPB.
..............
NEVER try to rehab a busted deal.

Bingo, that is the best way to use BIN's.
<< <i>Just my opinion, but I've had many more late payers since ebay changed the rule that sellers can't leave negs....especially from buyers with around 5 or less feedback. My viewpoint is I guess they must figure why not pay late, and see if the seller might accidentally ship the item before they pay, then they figure they don't have to pay, they get it for free - they've got nothing to lose by trying. I doubt if they succeed much if at all, but I'm just saying I think that's what they are thinking. >>
I bet there are also a lot more buyers who bid on multiple identical items, then choose only the one they get the best deal on.

That exact scenario has happened to me when I sold an XBox game.
