Weird card from 01 Topps pack...

Its a 1979 Topps Steve Zabel. Anyone know why this card in a 2001 pack and what the BV is?

    Is it from a reg. Topps pack? It's probably a buyback (card they bought back and re-inserted into new Topps packs)

    Not always. It can be something good and/or old. Just depends on the luck of the draw. You could pull a 1952 topps mantle or a 1989 joe blow topps card. Just depends on your luck. Kind of cool though that once you see you have an old card when you open the pack you have the same odds of getting the mantle as the crappy no name overprinted card. They inserted one card from every single year into topps packs (and if im not mistaken they said they added 3,000 mantles (most surely late 50's and early 60's versions) into the mix as well.

    if it is a 2001 topps originals, the commons are booked at $30. not bad for a cruddy player ay?

    Please dont give out false information, this card is not a topps original. This is jsut one of thousands of regular topps cards inserted into the packs. they do not have any kind of special sticker or marking on them, they are just the regular cards. Its like you bought it off ebay for $1. Its just the original card. its NOT one of those special 10 card topps originals insert that you see in the magazine

    oh ok, im sorry, i didnt realize that he was a fb player. But it was still the same deal. They insert one of every topps fb card from every year into the packs just like the baseball. So you could pull........marino rc or whatever. Its just the luck of the draw
