<< <i>who sells accurately graded unrestored raw cards on ebay that you've had good results in submitting to psa? >>
Not to sound cold, but many would be very hesitant to share such information. Such sources are GOLD to many people and noting them would make for more competition. Contrary to the wishes of a few, many here buy raw with the intention of grading for resale and making a profit. Nothing wrong with that, but asking them for their raw sources might strike the wrong chord...
Similarly, people asking for card sequences (rack packs, cellos, etc) and low pop or scarcer high grade cards in vintage sets also tends to tread in touchy territory.

I understand why someone would be hesitant to divulge good raw card sources, that seems logical.
But why would a collector have an issue with some asking about low pop or high grade vintage cards?
Just curious.
Collecting HOF RC's in hockey, baseball, football and basketball. A fool's errand some have said.
Best advice...learn how to grade accurately yourself and judge the scans. As far as people who sell thru catalogues or online WITHOUT scans, I personally have bought from two. Dean's cards and Battersbox. Both vendors had cards sent off to PSA and both came in way lower than their assigned grade thru the vendor....
what i WILL tell you is that you can spend anywhere from four to eight hours or more each day scanning eBay and looking at literally thousands upon thousands of pieces of refuse blowing across your monitor screen like so much debris on the freeway after a windstorm.......BUT, if you invest that much time and effort into the cause, the names of the dealers don't matter because you will find the better cards.
i have been doing exactly what i just described for you on a daily basis since the beginning of the year, as kind of a half-experiment, half-if this doesn't work it's time to raise the white flag situation, and so far it has worked out VERY well.
I buy raw 1960 in nm-mt for my team collection and find that most raw dealers over grade by 1-2 grades most of the time. What bothers me is when they over grade and you call them on it they refund your money and block you. I only ask for a refund when they call their cards NM-MT+ and it would get a 6.5 from PSA because of corner damage you can not see in the scans.

That's my biggest beef - the sheer difficulty of adequately judging corners via scan. Some times it is obvious, but more often than not you can't see the difference between Nm-MT cards and ExMt cards via scan when the difference is degree of corner wear. You can tell if a corner IS razor-sharp, but the reverse is not true - if the scan isn't definitive then you run a great risk.
Also, I think most raw sellers live and die by the fact that it's often not cost-effective to return small lots of cards that you're not happy with. Say you buy $10 worth of commons and are disappointed. You pay $4 to return them safely in order to guarantee a smooth refund of $10. And if you don't return them, can you easily Neg them without them being able to counter or remove it? Especially over a "difference of opinion"? There is a reason that most raw sellers have real good feedback - everyone just shrugs their shoulders and says "oh well" when they get overgraded cards.

I believe batterssbox lets the guy from Canada, Jason I think is name is, run thru his inventory before the general public gets to it. Why he does that is beyond me.
I have to believe Mike Wheats grading standards are as good is it gets.He is basically the only one that I have purchased from and sent out to PSA.There are a couple more good raw dealers however I have never sent one of thier cards in for grading,Andy Hailey, and Uncommons thier grading appear better than most.Codyp2000 has sold me nice raw also.

You have to watch carefully with Andy Hailey (if that's the same seller I'm thinking of; if not, sorry) - his raw grades do not take centering into account, and you can get a real surprise on some backs.
It's been said by others, but always look closely at any graded card sellers who also sell raw. There's often/usually a reason that they didn't sub the card they are selling raw.
Codyp has nice raw from what I can see, but very pricey.

The other thing I think is a risk with buying raw online, particularly the star cards, is that many were likely submitted in the past and rejected. Not always by the seller but maybe they are consigning for someone else who submitted the cards. I send a lot of cards back because they are short. I bought a MINT looking '59 Spahn a few weeks ago. I measured the ratio side to side and top to bottom and it seemed to be fine. I should have measured the width of the borders. I got the card and lo and behold it was short in both directions. Someone had trimmed it in such a way that the aspect ratio was still intact. Fortunately the seller took it back no questions asked. I mostly stick to commons. I wouldn't expect to get a legitimate '56 Mantle that will grade an 8 online. If one is auction, chances are very good it's miscut, trimmed or has a hairline crease that isn't disclosed.
just to further elaborate on gemint's post, i agree with the contention that pursuing raw high value stars are a loser's crap shoot at best, and in my recent adventures of purchasing i have been compelled to send some raw cards back to the sellers due to my suspicions of tampering, etc......virtually every bad card has been either a Yankee or a Dodger.
