anyone going to the BC High School Autograph Show (in baaahstin) this weekend???

just wondering if any of my fellow boston-area collectors on the board are going to this show this weekend (tonight through sunday)??? other than receiving no less than like 800 emails from sportsworld in saugus over the last month touting all of the autograph guests (mostly former bruins from the 70 stanley cup team and some current ones who dont seem to have a good grasp on how to play the game), i really dont know much else about it (the emails only mentioned the autograph guests and absolutely nothing about how many dealers/tables would be there, which i thought was kind of dumb).

so i called sportsworld yesterday and asked the less-than helpful guy who answered the phone if there were even going to be any dealers set up at this show (as i have no interest in going to get autographs) since the emails only mention the autograph guests and make no mention of anything else-- i think he said there were going to be like 100 tables (or 100 dealers??) but when i asked him if he had a list of those dealers he said "no, we're only sponsoring the autograph part of it". so then i asked him if there was someone i could call to get a list of dealers that were going to be there so i could see if it was going to be worth my while and he gives me a website address that i later find out doesnt even exist!! i was going to call him back today and say "thanks for your help, jackass!! i guess u dont want anyone coming to this show that u've been spamming me about only every day for like the last month!!"

not going but my uncle was teacher there in the 80s and 90s I think. Thought he was a principal but looking him up now, I only see him listed as a teacher

they had his funeral in the gym in 2003 - the place was packed

    Went, laughed, left.

Not like the old days. 100 tables? more like 60, and 15 of them were Sportsworld. The other 45? Same few local weekend warriors that set up in Woburn, Burlington, and a couple from Mansfield. Mike Hogan had quite a nice pile of actual game worn jerseys, but I buy mine from the same sources that he does so there is no need for me to pay a mark up.

Did I mention, $5 to get in. Joke!image

Unless you are going for a specific auto, don't waste a sunny day. Noon time yesterday the dealers out numbered the "shoppers" about 2 to 1, and most were waiting on auto guests.
