Confused on how Quick Opinion Service works

I'm a bit confused on how the Quick Opinion service works. The PSA page on this says it will give a opinion on a item that you are interested in purchasing in a auction. The Mantle ball below had a
quick opinion done on it to help sell it in a ebay auction. If that were the case it seems like this would be the way to go because QO is only $10 compared to the $100 it normally costs to
authenticate a Mantle ball. Can someone explain this to me? Thanks. Doug

Its not the same as having a COA/LOA from them. If the item comes back from QO as "Likely Genuine" there is a good chance it will pass, but its not guaranteed.
They would need to see it in person and take a better look before they will give you the better COA/LOA
PS it is a great way to sell a lower to mid priced raw autographed item on eBay, I have told many people to use it for their items without COA/LOA's. Or at least ad a link to the Quick Opinion so the bidders can check on their own.
With the excessive fee rate they charge (ie $75 for a DiMaggio item), Sometimes its not worth it for the seller to get an item pre-authenticated by PSA/DNA (w/COA/LOA) before they sell, sometimes the fee is half the TRUE value on some stuff if not more.
Ruth, Cobb, Gehrig, Waddell, Plank, Wagner.......... yes
Living/Modern Players, & DiMaggio, Mantle, etc. the fee is usually way too much IMO
