1972 Puerto Rican Mike Schmidt

What is a fair price for a 1972 Puerto Rican Mike Schmidt sticker (say in PSA 6)?

Is this a $30, $300, or $3000 item?

I would think 3 to 5 hundred....hard to find in high grade...a 6 would be pretty high for a 72 sticker.

a 9 is worth approximately $3 - $5k [although I personally think it should be worth more, the demand is not there .... there are two, and I can place them both]

an 8 is worth closer to $800 - $1,200, they simply don't show up much.

The card is definitely a condition rarity -- it is very hard to find in PSA 8 / 9 condition. But the card is simply a rarity in nice shape at all. I don't think a 6 is worth $500, but it is probably worth in the $250-$350 range, depending on centering, etc.

One of my favourite cards of Sir Mike.

    Here is my example:

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Source is VCP, actual sales were as follows:

    2/6/10 eBay $499.99
    8/22/09 eBay $570.00
    7/10/08 eBay $850.00

Not a shot in the dark like most SMR prices. You can get killed by $$ wise by using SMR for 90% of items.
  • Wow, I'll need to add this card to my collection one day. I didn't even know it existed.
