Or the many Albert Puljos he continues to sell, just on the last 3 months he has sold around 1 a week, buys them for less than 10 dollars some even less than a dollar, then makes them fake 1/1 Buybacks and makes over $200 of profit
Are they so good of fakes that no buyer has given him a negative? Some of these buyers have high feedback

Nice catch. I bet the authorities would love to get a hold of this guy. That is a felony isn't it? Fraudulent Autos is a serious thing I would assume.
  • The mind-blowing aspect of this is that there are several guys buying these cards with feedback in the 1000's. How in the world can they not see that these are fakes?

  • leathtechleathtech Posts: 3,191
I think card companies should take some blame for this... they produce all the special 1/1 cards like they are water - they produce a blue, red, black, and purple version and call everything 1/1. No way am I saying what the seller is doing is legal, ethical, or correct but card companies have made it easy for crooks like this to profit! It's almost impossible to track all the real versions of cards today!

    Ummm...

Seems like your research is sound. Have you passed it on to EBay?

Again, have you passed this info on to anyone or "only" posted it here. I don't man to question you, but unless someone takes this info to the proper authorities, then all that happens is that this small (and fairly experienced) segment of the population is the only one aware of it.

wats crazy is the A on Pujols auto is different. I am not auto eggspurt by any means but even I can see they are inconstant. Some "A"s have a loop and others have a triangle to them. I also bet this guy holds ppls feedback hostage as well. They need to lock this guy up and throw away the key...

I dont know autos either but if you view the guy's feedback on ebay he sold more then 1 aaron 1/1 auto. Same card sold on 2 auctions.

This would lead me to believe the auto is a fake as well but I am no eggspurt on autos

the thing is who is that "anyone", as long as ebay gets the fees do they really care? Maybe if the buyers are contacted and they get their credit cards involved ebay will listen?

You have to at least start with Ebay. No way that I know of to contact the buyers directly, although one guy in this thread seems to know one of them. Gotta follow up or he keeps doing it.

If this guy is in Israel then the counterfeiting laws might not effect him? I don't know. I know with music bootlegs back in the day they used to come Italy because the bootlegs were not considered illegal in Italy.

    Good case!!!

The file should be delivered to Trust & Safety at EBAY.
Sadly, T&S is essentially a failed department that does
nothing but protect buyers and sellers that engage in
    criminal activities.

Make hardcopies and send cert mail to:

    EBAY, Inc.
    Trust & Safety Dept.
    Fraud Investigations
    2145 Hamilton Avenue
    San Jose, CA 95125

    EBAY, Inc.
    Legal Dept.
    Fraud Investigations
    2145 Hamilton Avenue
    San Jose, CA 95125

Include ALL of your contact info in the mailings.

Your cover letter should demand that the criminal's
account be suspended pending an investigation. The
letter should ONLY be one-page; tell your story and
make your demand succinctly. Include all pictures and
    copies of listings.

If they fail to act FAST, FAX the file to the San Jose BBB.
The complaint should state that EBAY has been on notice
of the fraud and failed to act to protect consumers.

If the carp is being shipped from a foreign country, send
the file to the DC embassy of the country. (Notify EBAY
that the "item location" in the listings is fraudulent. Use
the report item link in the listing for this.)

PayPal should also get a copy of the file.

Send you packet to Michael O'Keefe at the New York
Daily News. (I don't like him, but he will usually act if
it will make him famous.) If there is a mideast connection,
maybe he will go with a headline like:

"Mideast Terror Funded By Fake Sports Cards On EBAY"

Send the full packet to the TV stations in the seller's US-address
    location.

Send the packet to the LEOs in that town.

Send the packet to the SF office of the FBI. (Note the mideast
connection to the criminal enterprise. Give a high-estimate of
the money value of the enterprise.)

    File a report at www.ic3.gov.

    ////////////////////////

There is much more you can do to light fires.

BUT, the bottom line is that EBAY does NOT care that criminals -
buyers and sellers - are running rampant on the site. They ONLY
    care about collecting fees.

Numerous Fortune 500 companies now have internal security
forces that deal only with "the largest stolen-goods fencing
enterprise in the history of the world." Their success is marginal.

75-85% of autographs are fake on the internet. Yet people still buy these fakes by the thousands everyday. its a joke.
  • The Jordan is already numbered so why would anyone think it is a 1/1 if Upper Deck numbered it already? Odd...

    Rick >>

The Jordan card was released as a serial numbered base card and he recently bought it that way.
He gets a auto buyback hologram from a cheap player then places it on the back of the fake Jordan.
Then basically claims UD re-released(buyback) the Jordan as a 1/1 auto.

Such might be a true statement, if talking about marque players only. Montana's, Jordan's, Tiger's, Pujols, et al. However as a blanket statement I think that is completely false. The pack inserted autos alone make up more then 15% of today's signature's on the market.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

Yeah but the pack inserted autos have had these issues

    1. Friends and Family members signing the cards
    2. Fake autos being bought and put on cards.

To say 100% of all pack inserted autos are real is another fallacy.
