signed ball value help needed

Hi Autograph experts. I have a signed ball with 19 Hall of Fame signatures. The ball is a major league ball, Mickey Mantle on the sweet spot. It is authenticated by JSA with signatures averaging in a grade of 8. I am curious to know what you guys think the ball is worth. It is signed by:

Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Jim Palmer, Catfish Hunter, Robin Roberts, Hoyt Wilhelm, Fergie Jenkins, Lou Brock, Sandy Koufax, Stan Musial, Whitey Ford, Johnny Mize, Earl Weaver, Bob Feller, Enos Slaughter, Brooks Robinson, Monte Irvin, Billy Williams and Andre Dawson.

Please let me know what you think it is worth.

    A scan would be great.

Multi signed balls are tricky. You cannot just add the values of each individual player and get a definitive answer there are key elements we need to find out first.
    1. Who is on the sweetspot
    2. What are the grades of the key players (Mantle, Dimaggio, Koufax)
    3. What type of ball is it? (OAL, OML, unoffical)

I am sure it would bring somewhere in the $500-700 range but it is always hard to tell.

  • I am not sophisticated enough for the use of a scanner. Mickey Mantle is on the sweetspot, and the letter of authenticity states signatures range from grade of 6-10 with an average of 8, and they condsider the ball to be in Near Mint condition. It is on an official American League (Brown) ball.

I was hoping it is worth between $700/1000

  • Well having Mantle on the sweetspot definately is a plus . Koufax is a little tough and several deceased players . Not sure
exactly on value but i would guesstimate in the neighborhood of 6-7 hundred.

Having lesser HOF'ers on multi-signed balls can actually lower the value a little. Siunds like a nice ball though

Brian - Great item! With Mantle and Dimaggio, I think the ball is worth in the $700-$800 range. Tough to say but the fact they are all HOFers is a huge plus. I am curious, though, I thought if Dimaggio and Mantle were on the same ball Joe D would be on the sweet spot.

Mantle was probably the first to sign and the others were obtained later...

Sounds like a great item! I too think it would bring at least $600 in just about any auction setting (EBAY, major auction house). I think the ceiling is about $750/800. Keep it in fine condition away from natural sunlight, and you'll enjoy it for years to come...

  • I do believe Mantle signed it first. It was signed over many years. I am considering selling it, but it is a nice group of autographs. I am more of a high end card collector. I am not really into autographs or memorabilia. I will let the board know if I decide to sell it.
