My First of many Clemente's

Got jealous of all the great looking Clemente's here and decided to make a run at the Basic set. My first Clemente was the'62 and is about the quality I will be looking for with the exception of some 8's and the Rookie which I can not even imagine at this time. Centering is a little bit off, but for some reason does not bother me this way on the 62's. I am thinking about 2 years to complete the set. Card 2 - '57.

Picking up steam, nice thing about this set is there seem to be plenty available - have others in transit both bought and sold as some didn't quite fit with the group.

3rd is the '69 and then - the '72 which was purchased from board member bug on the rug (Bill), and I couldn't be happier with it.

    Yes, I have been collecting some of these too. I've got 5 through 7 with a bunch raw. I love the 3-d effect of his portrait, the background and the border.

    8's are crazy $$ IMO.

    Next up for me is the 63. Still looking for a nice centered 7.

    I have 16 of the required 20. Ranging from 8s to 5s. I have been doing some upgrading, but hope to finish by Christmas. I am also looking for a 63 PSA 7 that is nicely centered. Like MBMIller just said, it is a tough set. Some cards are easier to come by than others.

    62 are a tough year.

    Very popular player set. I just won a 69 the other night.

    Very nice choice to start a Clemente set. One of my favorites.

    Thanks for the good words. Feels nice to be involved in a new project that is unlike what I typically collect.

    Bump for my second addition, prolly be a while before I add any others.

    Bump for newest additions. Thanks for the kind words from all, I am having a lot of fun with this set. Got outbid by one of the board members on the psa 8 69 wabitwax had up, but happy with my 7.

    Great set to build. The 62 is very nice. Like Sidepocket said the "centering isn't bad at all" on the 62. I've finished my basic set in the (6 to 8 range), but will be upgrading my 6's to 7's and 8's shortly. Good Luck and enjoy.
