I was going to say, FTD is going to hook his funeral up BIG TIME.

Talk about a gentle giant and a class act. We need more Merlins in this world.

Is Deacon Jones the last surviving Fearsome Foursome member?

    RIP

My mom lives up in Logan, UT, where Merlin grew up, and I believe Merlin's mom still lives. I am sure there will be some sort of memorial at Merlin Olson Park.

I saw him out there 10+ years ago. Big guy!

This is just terrible news...My prayers go to Merlin and all of his family members and friends. Merlin was a favorite of mine as a kid and I got to meet him many times over the years when my father was at Paramount Studios during the Little House on the Prairie days. He was certainly a gentleman and will be truly missed. RIP Merlin Olsen.

No, Rosey Grier is still with us.

I am sorry to hear that Merlin passed away. I remember him as a football icon when he was playing and as part of the great announcing team of "Dick Enberg and Merlin Olsen" on NBC's AFC football telecasts.

    RIP Merlin.

    Another giant falls. RIP.

Many of today's football players can learn a lot from Merlin's life about how to handle themselves both on and off the field.
