Should I bother sending my Sandy Koufax ball to PSA for grading?

I bought a Sandy Koufax autographed baseball on eBay the other day and I'm considering sending it in to PSA for grading, but one thing has me unsure..
I'm not really worried about whether or not the signature is legitimate as it's already authenticated by Steiner, OnlineAuthentics, and MLB, so sending it in to PSA would be for no reason other than grading.
The autograph is on a Leonard S. Coleman baseball and it looks almost perfect, except for the fact that the top panel appears to have some small scratches. None of the other panels show any wear and I don't see any toning on the ball. The signature and inscription are very bold and has no smudges. Were it not for the top panel, I would fully expect the ball to grade high, but with the top panel such as it is, I'm just not sure.

I'll get some high-res pictures of the top panel later, but you can get at least somewhat of an idea from the main picture in the auction..

I personally wouldn't spend the money for the "grading".

My concern with "expecting a high grade" lies in the fact
that the inscription touches the signature.
The sig is certainly "high grade," but that touching could
hurt the grade.
It's hard to really see the scratches in pictures, but if you look closely, you can see them on the top panel.

I wouldn't be sending it in to PSA for the purpose of authentication. The purpose of sending it in would be to have it graded. If it comes back with a high grade, it's worth more money. Plus, the sealed cube with stand makes for a nice display..it's just a matter of whether or not the ball would be worthy of a high grade. I'm not really sure.

I think what the op is after is getting the sig graded and is wondering if it would help the resale value in the future if he needed to sell?
I have been out of the autograph area for a few years so I don't know if grading has caught on yet. If it were up to me I would pass on sending it in because the grade is only is good from the time it was sent in. If anything happened to it later on (like toning or the sig fades) the grade would mean nothing.
