Met a forum member today

Turns out that olmanjon lives over yonder in Bloomfield, not too far from where I live in Manchester in Western NY.

So we got together for lunch today at Mickey Finn's in Victor NY, about halfway for each.image

What a blast! we chatted away like magpies and 2 hours flew by. One of the things he parted with
was this very nice South African piece-it will fill a hole in my collection and I love the look.

It's always nice to meet the man behind the mask.image

Almost literally. olmanjon had warned me , "I'll be wearin' the cowboy hat, driving a Jeep".

So I pull into the parking lot, see the jeep, and pull in next to: Hah! Huge Black Jeep Wrangler herded
by this stone face wearing a black cowboy hat. I gestured, he smiled and I relaxed.

Just kidding- he's a well spoken, coin passionate golf ball hitting son of a gun. We will be chasing the
little white ball together this summer, I'm sure.

Very cool! I've met quite a few members of the forum, at my one and as yet only coin show. It's nice to meet people that you have been talking to online for over a year. Most of the people that I met were US collectors, with a notable exeption that regularly contributes to this section being Andy Lustig (and Aki!)

Laurent, that's the biggest half dollar I've ever seen! They are nice and I've got at least one of them.

Unfortunately I've only had the privilege of meeting two Darksiders - the venerable and honorable and ageless Church Mouse, who also goes by the code name MacCrimmon, and Sid Belzberg.

I couldn't believe that we talked for two hours. Quite an interesting guy that Laurent. He gave me three chinese coins that are at least 1700 years old. Very nice addition to my collection. Can't wait to get on the golf course. Smitty-I made him promise to not talk about all the bad things I said about you.image It was a pleasure to meet an other passionate coin collector from the forum. I am now up to two such people.
