If I had 5 grand I would buy it after emailing him asking to gaurantee the holder is untampered. VCP says one sold for 6,000. This card is most likely not going to reholder though.
<< <i>This card is most likely not going to reholder though. >>>
You mean it will sell before he gets to re-holder it, or do you mean PSA won't re-holder it if its been tampered with? >>
It's too risky with a card that valuable. As a buyer you have to assume the slab is tampered but I might not be. He may be an honest guy who needs a quick sale. Who knows.
1st/1st of the 1917 novel His Family by Ernest Poole. The copyrite page says, "1916, 1917" and most people think this is a second printing when it is not. The publisher didn't print enough and when the book flew off the shelves they had to go back and reprint it, so the second printing says "1916, 1917, reprinted May 1917"
The guy on Amazon didn't know what he had, and to make things even better (for me) the book is in darn near perfect shape...best one I have ever seen.
<< <i>I just picked up a $2,000 book for $29.00 on Amazon....but it's a keeper >>
This sounds like an amazing find! Do you have more info for us! >>

Very cool. I wish I had a greater knowledge of books and literature like this, I love seeing some of the pre-1900 book covers but I never know what is worth what.

That is awesome, I love it!
<< <i>Seller is very legit. I'm sure he would reholder the card for free if you agreed on price >>
Likewise, This seller is actually a pleasure to work with.
I agree seller should have it reholdered before attempting a sale.
