February Special Poppage (all over the place)

(Moved from BST -- didn't look where I was posting)

I was expecting majority of 7s, sprinkling of 6s, maybe one or two 8s. I had to miss a crease/wrinkle on the Garcia card. I have no clue on the 5s. I checked and rechecked every card in this sub for wrinkles/pds/tears/etc. I suppose there could have been something else I was overlooking (discoloration due to age?) I know I pulled all the off register printings I saw. At any rate -- not a horrid sub overall, but only 13 of 30 cards at the mark I was shooting for (or over) is a mildly tough pill to swallow. I kind of dread the results from the group sub at this point.

I did get two 9s that were totally unexpected and 6 cards at 8 or better is awesome in my book. (One of the 9s is a 'none higher' variety).

Also awesome turnaround time -- logged 2/25 -- if they ship tomorrow I'll have them on Saturday.

Does anyone here have experience grading Red Backs? I have been going through the ones I have on hand already trying to determine rhyme or reason for grades. I have 5s and 7s which seem to look the same to me. I'm just not sure what I need to look for, or what I might be missing on these.

1951 Topps Red Backs are notorious for having hidden wrinkles, straight out of the pack. It was a production issue back at the time. I imagine that if you have a high power light, look at examples of some of these cards [preferably raw] under that lamp at a tilted angle, you will be able to see where the wrinkles are.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Thanks -- that's the only thing I can presume at this point. I know I checked all these cards several times. I bought a raw set a couple years back and pulled 22 of them for creases/wrinkles/paper loss/etc. Some were barely visible under different lighting to the naked eye.

I was grading my wrinkles/creases on a 1 (could only see it at the correct angle under good light) to 10 (noticed immediately upon looking at card) and the only one I sent in with a crease I saw was a '2' on the Warren Spahn. The 5 there is expected (was actually thinking it might be a 4).
