OT - anyone know a good, cheap hotel near Kaufman Stadium in KC?

Taking a road trip there for the Twins series in late April. Having never been, no idea where to stay that's nice (enough) and moderately priced. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know anything about the hotels around here but the remodeled Kaufman is AWESOME! You will have a great time! Just be careful, flying hotdogs have been known to cause eye damage. image

  • When I went about 5 years ago I stayed at the Holiday Inn, which is across from the stadium's parking lot. Reasonably priced. Came with breakfast. And you can stumble back to the hotel if you have much to drink while enjoying Kaufmann.
I collect PSA graded 1980-81 Basketball.

Cool - I saw the a Holiday Inn was linked to on the schedule on MLB.com...will check it out.
Heard it was great before the remodel, and even better now. Color me excited!

There is also a Drury Inn & Clarion Hotel right across the interstate from the stadium. I stayed at both a bunch back in the day. I'm guessing the hotels right across the street are more expensive than those a little out. If you are looking to save a little money, there is a Days Inn a little bit west of the stadium. A little east of the stadium along I-70 there is a plethora of hotels that surrounds a shopping mall (if the ladies are going too). Among these are Red Roof, Quality Inn & Suites, Super 8, Best Western, American Inn, and a Motel 6 (where they'll leave the lights on for you).

I went to the K 100s of times back when I lived in Nebraska. Now that I am in Minnesota, I don't get down there near as much as I'd like. When I do go to KC, I go to the Nascar races and stay in NE KC.

I can't wait to see the improvements they've made to the K since I've last been there. It looks awesome on TV. Also can't wait to see Target Field from the inside. I saw it from the outside last week and it looks awesome. Although I'm not a Twins fan, I will go to see outdoor baseball in Minnesota!!
