If you could collect one set from the late 2030s.....

which one would it be?

I personally would choose the 2038 Topps Cold Fusion Series II subset Beam Me Out to the Ballgame. I hear the Ken Griffey III card is really hot in that one. It's a redemption (wouldn't you know), but you use the cards to travel back in time to a ball game of your choice. Just don't interact with anyone, or the space-time continuum will get all F'd in the A.
Kiss me once, shame on you.
Kiss me twice.....let's party.

well, i s'pose there would be a chase card, but it would depend on who was the 2037 Wookie Of The Year.....then, i'd need to slice off some kid's arm with my light sabre at Walmart Jupiter to keep him from damaging the vacuum sealed Upper Deck Of The Universe Gallacti-Packs. image

I would say the 2037 Topps Heritage set would be the one. I love the design of the old 1987 Topps that they used. The Barry Bonds game used syringe is especially tough to find.

The other one would be the 2039 Base Topps set. That Billion card giveaway was pretty neat.

2039 Topps Running Man with a well-centered Richard Dawson. A nice Yaphet Kotto would work as well.

I think at only $9.29 per pack it really is the best bargain of the lower tier sets.

I would go with the 2038 Topps set and my favorite card is the Jamie Moyer card as it is his 60th year in MLB.
  • 2038 Topps is overrated IMHO. Ever since they cut back to 1675 cards in the base set, and only 96 parallel sets, it just doesn't hold collector interest like some of the great sets from the early 2030's.

also, the Pete Rose 50 Years Of Banishment Highlight Set should become available, assuming Pete is still around to manufacture that one himself.

Mine would have to be the 2039 All Felix Potvin Chrome Series. These cards just seem to bring higher prices for some reason.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
