question on 1 kilo silver coin/medal from Malta

The seller lists this coin as NOT silver, but rather silver plated despite what's written on the coin, i.e. 1kg Ag.

Does anyone know if these medals/coins (I've seen different designs from 2004) are in fact one kilo of pure silver, as they say on the coin, as well as on the certificate of authenticity? I'm a bit intrigued, and yet surely the seller wouldn't sell a kilo of silver for $89? What does he know that I don't (probably a lot)? What do you guys know about these medals/coins? Actually, I guess they're medals (without denomination) but still, they profess to be of pure silver. Are the Knights of Malta indeed alchemists?

    It would be over 32 ounces of silver if it were genuine. That would make it a $500 medal. It is probably a Chinese fake.

    One or both MUST be fraudulent since both have the same serial number of 49/100.

    Wanna see ebay do nothing?

    I reported both listings, as any fool could see they both can't be legit.

    Who wants to bet that both listings will be allowed to complete?

    I don't know anything about these medals (referred to as coins in the auctions), but one auction specifically states that it is silver plated only, not pure silver. However, it's hard to imagine that the real thing (if it exists), would state on it that it is 1 kg of 999 silver if it weren't so. I smell a foul pile of rotting rats.
