GEM grading group sub

I have not been on the boards for a few weeks and am very excited to see the progress on the group PSA sub and can't wait for my little dose of comeuppance when they pop. To that end I figured I would pitch in to the group by organizing a group sub to GEM. I think I have a pretty good deal as any cards depicting the following:
Rob Deer
Sid Bream
Doug Plank
Gary Hogeboom
Felix Potvin
Link Gaetz
Danny Ferry
Granville Waiters
will be graded for $.88 - shipping included. For every 10 cards they offer a free pack of Big League Chew. I have 8 cards ready. If I can get just two more, we're chewing. WHO'S WITH ME?

1974 Topps Fair Hooker
1969 Topps Dick Shiner
1980 Topps Magic Johnson
1975 Topps Dick Pole
1984 Topps Rusty Kuntz
1958 Topps Woody Held
1991 MAXX Dick Trickle
And wondering if they'll grade this card of one-time Chicago Bulls player Chubby Cox:
My all time dream with GEM is to subnit some "Spinal Tap " cards and get an "11". I know its foolish dreaming on my part , but its better than the "Hook and Chain" that we are having to digest now.

<< <i>As someone stated earlier, if you drop your pencil in , it may be graded as a mini-bat.

Their holders are Earth friendly. They biodegrade in 90 days.
Since all their cards come back a 10, it's easy to pre-sell knowing what to expect.
The cards are not graded by some big corporate group, "The Man" if you will. They are graded by a guy who loves cards. So much, he grades them close to his home. Well his Moms home. err Basement.
In 40 years will you remember what PSA, BGS, SGC stands for? I know I wont. I forgot what I did yesterday. How can you forget Gets Easy Money or as they are known in the midwest, Good Eye Missing. And who can forget the oh so popular Gee! Everythings Mint
PSA and BGS prides themselves on catching counterfeit cards before they reach they slab... How does that help the collector who sells? Counterfeit cards are sometimes hard to sell. In a GEM slab, they appear to have more legitimacy and therefore become easy to move.
While other companies restrict their cards in a tight holder, GEM allows the cards to move freely......did someone say Freedom? That's American ! Afterall, it's in a slab. It's already graded. You buy the holder not the card anyways.
Some graders offer velvet bags, vouchers, free shipping and other non round items as a gift. GEM gives you Chuck E Cheese Tokens. You read that right. Chuck E Cheese. NOT Showbiz. Once I rec'd a 1985 D large mint mark!! I plan on selling it to the one guy who collects these.
So all in all if you have a player on a poster on your wall, cut it up and sent it to GEM, and get a 10 ya'll.
I love that place...I had my 32nd birthday their and had a great time.

I had a lot of GEM cards back then, and last year sold my last one in a charity auction (1980 Gretzky Topps) the card was clearly trimmed (and in eBay auction listed as "TRIMMED GEM JUNK GRETZKY 1980 TOPPS". Ended up getting about 20-25 dollars for it, 100% donated to charity through eBay...I didn't know what else to do with it...could have cracked it and sold raw...that wouldn't have been the honest thing to do.
I had a Bourque rookie come back from PSA as trimmed, which I sold on eBay along with the cardsaver with the "trimmed" sticker on it. I put a small black dot on the front to see what would happen, sure enough it appeared about a month later, through a different eBay ID, advertised as "NM-MT"
A lot of people who are new to the graded side of the hobby do not know GEM is a bad company, therefore, many cards that make it to GEM are actually nice cards.
I think the purpose of GEM is to be send the collector on a "Treasure Hunt" that is, you have to really search through their grades to find a GEM.

Not at all. Having 3 boys, it's a hit in our family.
