Price for Cal Ripken auto?

Cal Ripken is going to be at the Philly Sports Card and Memorablia Show in March. They still don't have a price on his auto. Anyone know his going rate on a card?

Thank you Jeremy

I can't remember the name of the company that represents him, but I get occasional emails from them. I just got one in the last couple weeks advertising an upcoming private signing, and the prices are around $140 for a regular flat item.

Actually, here's a link to MAB Celebrity Services' website about the show. According to it, Ripken's autographs are $165 for a flat item!

I will go and pay for auto. My sons godfather gave me a 82 topps rookie for him when he was born. Card is NM so I thought it would be cool to get it autographed for him. He's only four now but 20 or 30 years from now I think he'll like it.

    Looking forward to saying hello.

I just found an email I received from Ironclad Authentics. They're doing a private signing with Cal Jr in April, and are charging $130 for a small flat item.

    Here's their website:

If you need Ripken cheaper, there is a guy over on sportscollectors.net that participates in Ripken signings and has a very good price well under 3 figures for cards. Comes with Ironclad Authentication as well. He wants the pricing to be private to sportscollectors.net (SCN) members so I'm not going to post it here, but if you become a member of that site, search for posts by user brad0112 and you'll find the thread. Membership at SCN costs around $14.95 if I remember correctly, and it's helped expand my collection tremendously.

  • I plan on attending the Philly show as well.... Don't know if I want to pay $165 for an auto though.... Do you think it will be cheaper at the National?

I sincerely doubt it, since the National autograph venue is run by Tristar, and they are the most expensive autograph company around.

  • I agree with thenavarro; SportsCollectors.net is an awesome site and will help with your collection, just as with ours.

Were you looking to get a particular item autographed? I have had a few PSA certified cards go unsold on ebay the past month or so........for less than half of the going rate it seems.

Yes, I have a 82 Topps rookie that was given to my son by his godfather. So it's worth the money to me.

I'm going to the national also but I figured it would cost more. I will pay the at the Philly show plus get to meet him. Twenty years from now it will be worth the money.

I will then take it right over to PSA to be slabbed.

Twenty years from now... priceless, unless my kid sells it image
