Austria 100 Corona Gold 1915 Restrike

Same question as the other one I just posted on the 1947 Peso. What is the market for high grade slabbed specimens? My friend has some that look to me to grade 65 up to 67, and the pop reports don't show many at all in those grades.
Some refer to overgraded slabs as Coffins. I like to think of them as Happy Coins.

  • Both of these coins have between no and very little premium in high grade holders, as both are restrikes. I heard recently that you can still have 100 koronas struck to order these days. I once had (if I remember correctly) a PCGS PF67 100 korona, which has a dash next to the price in Krause. I sold it for $50 over melt, which I thought was an excellent premium and probably a fluke. You can order BU 100 koronas in bulk at ~2.5% over melt, and be guaranteed many high grade pieces as they are all brand new.
