Review Question

If you have a card that has a qualifier, can you send it in for review with a specification for a certain minimum grade with no qualifier?

Example: If I send in a PSA 9(oc), but would rather have it in a PSA 7 NQ holder, will PSA review it that way?

  • EXCELLENT QUESTION. NOT SURE BUT I THINK YOU CAN REQUEST GRADING WITHOUT QUALIFIERS. MAYBE J ORLANDO CAN COMMENT.

Yes, and while a PSA 9 (OC) counts as a PSA 7 for Registry purposes, there's no assurance that it will grade a straight PSA 7...

This scenario could be vice-versa also. I had a PSA 7 '69 Mantle that had razor sharp corners and was brilliant all around except the centering was atrocious. I assume whomever sent it in asked for NQ. The question here would be: If I sent that card in for review, could I request a 9(oc) as minimum grade in the review process?
