My initial impression for the last name was Searles. Here's some minor-leaguers listed by that name on baseball-reference.com:
Minor Leaguers Player years last franch ??? Searle 1891 Chris Searle 2003-2006 Dan Searle 1950-1954 BAL Ryan Searle 2008-2009 CHC Walter Searle 1938-1940 BOS Charles Searles 1946 Jon Searles 1999-2008 SDP Joseph Searles 1952-1955 OAK Tom Searles 1905-1910 William Searles 1900-1901
Kind of thought those look like Washington Senators pinstripes. There was a Pete Dayley that played with the Senators in 1961, but he was a catcher, it appears this player was a pitcher. Also looked like Dayley or daddy was a nickname.

You are giving away your youth. Photos used to come that way after being developed back then. It's not a card but someone that actually took a photograph of him--IMO.

* If the back of a photo has the printing 'Velox,' the photo dates circa 1940s-50s.
so, perhaps this will help give a clue to the player.

(sig on front) Duffy is common for the era. lived a long life, died in 1980
Many of these picture common players, I dont recall seeing any star players of the dozen or so Ive seen.
Your Photo "card" is thought to be from the ca.1940s, but many picture players from the Teens-1920's.
Photo experts say the paper is not from the 1920s and have said it was a bit later
Not much definite info is known about them.
It is sometimes called a Velox Deckle Edge Premium Photo. Velox is the photo paper (like Kodak)
PS Mine also has the players name hand written on back
Rosy Ryan .........played for NY NL 1919-24
