Home Trading Cards & Memorabilia Forum

Look at what I found! Lots of pictures.

I have a friend I met through Ebay 4 or 5 years ago. I have been selling cards for him since. He buys LOTS of rookies of all skill players during their rookie year and then has some graded and some he sells. He believes in QUANTITY. When no one knew who Tom Brady was he had 100's of his rookies. I went to his house before Brady took off and the guy had probably 200 Vanguard Tom Brady ROOKIES many BGS 9.5 or BGS 9. Same deal with Romo and other guys.

Anyway, I went to his house today to pick up some things to sell for him. He's had much of it for so long he didn't remember what was there. We filled up my minivan and we just kind of loaded stuff in without knowing what was there. One big plastic container had a few Elways and Marions and Dickersons on top. So I was excited to look through that box. There turned out to be 100's of these cards. 84 and 85 USFL and all the stars. Many in NM to MINT condition. The picture of the cards on the steps are the mid 80 rookies. The huge pile on the second step is 84 Marinos and Elway above him all the cards under those players are identical cards. Sets wax boxes, football, basketball and some baseball. LOTS of graded lower end stuff autos etc. All BGS and SGC. All legit real Topps cards, no reprints or fakes.

Here are some pics. I will be selling these items in the next few weeks on the BST boards. So if you see something you want PM me.
The scans are nice, but they don't show the numbers of rookies on the steps. I hope the pics aren't too big.

You should list a Marino RC on Ebay with the stairs pic just for giggles.

Crazy stash, looks like a lot of fun!

I remember when the 89H Robinson RC was white hot. I think it was listed as an SP back around 1990 - I'm not sure about that one?

Nice stuff - good luck on the sale!

    LSU and Cubs, C'mon down!

The price on one of the Robinsons was $40. So much of this stuff was RED HOT at one point.

    Nathaniel,
Did you see the Littlest Pet Shop in the background? My daughter wanted to be in the picture on the steps.

My 6th month old daughter has WAY TOO MANY playsets going in my family room right now. I feel like just getting her her own little mini apartment at this point.

OH NO!! Found a set of 1970 Topps Football turned the first two pages and cards looked sharp EX-EXMT maybe better. Then water damage to the cards on top right corner. The guy had a flooded basement 15 years ago and these must have been in it.
    Dang. Very nice.
  • Any Montana Rookies?
  • MphilkingMphilking Posts: 1,570 ✭✭✭
I didn't see any Montana Rookies in this lot. A 1980 cello box of football. That looks nice. About 13 packs of 1985 cell football too.
  • That is FANTASTIC!!!
