KSA

Are they junk or what?

Compared to PSA, what are KSA equals?

KSA 10 = PSA?
KSA 09 = PSA?

etc...

Thanks in advance.

KSA is a good company and from what I understand a better alternative for Canadians than PSA due to shipping and customs. Crossover and crackouts to PSA generally don't go well.

From the few cards that I've seen that get cracked and submitted to PSA, I'd say that the KSA cards get a minus 2 from their grade.

Not a scientific sample by any stretch of the imagination, just what I've seen on a few.

    YMMV,

Not really, there's no duty or taxes on PSA submissions coming back to Canada. PSA shipping is a scam but big deal, even if you over pay what shipping costs by $20-30, it's not even comparable. PSA is typically also cheaper for grading. It's like saying USA grading might be a better alternative for Americans because it's cheaper image

In fairness, they do examine cards thoroughly, seen some good stories. Overall I wouldn't buy anything vintage of significant value to cross ($50+) hoping for more than a -2 on the PSA Grade. AND OBVIOUSLY CRACK BEFORE YOU SUBMIT.

There was a great post on here about a week ago that a member shared his KSA to PSA crack outs. If you find it via the search it will be worth your time reading.

  • Vlad, your assuming this only if Canada Customs doesn't open your package enroute to PSA and PSA rejects it as having been opened. Happened to me twice, even though it was a Canada Post Expedited Box. I canceled my PSA subscription shortly thereafter.

As for KSA, I would think they have a good track record at grading hockey cards (knowing the ins and outs of certain issues). But from my understanding, it's best to knock off a grade when considering crossover. Oh, and then there's KSA's $14/card grading fee.

bought a ksa 1983 warren moon jogo.. it crossed over to psa 6. i think it could have gotten and 8oc or even a 8pd. it looks like the border was printed twice.. the second one is very faint but you can see it. i didn't really care too much. i was just happy it crossed over.
