Topps Million Card Web Site - Something Very Strange

Hi Everyone...

I had something *VERY* strange happen that I wanted to make people aware of.

Earlier in the evening, I created an account, and added 5 cards. I went away for a few hours, and came back to add a new card. That is when something very strange happened. I started to get the intial graphics that you get when you id a card, then I got routed to "www.filfe.com". Any attempt to go to www.toppsmillion.com would send me back to www.filfe.com.

I exitit my browser, then restarted. I was able to go back to the TOPPS site and ID my card normally.

Before anyone says to run a virus checker, I'm not a PC, nor do I have an OS that resembles anything PC related. I live along, so no one else has access to my computer. The "netstat" command doesn't show anything that doesn't belong there. Ditto with any extra one that I have store away. FYI, I'm a former System Administrator, so I know what to look for.

The only sites that I had visited since I last restarted MOZILLA were TOPPS, EBAY, PSA and Beckett.

Those people who have PC's might want to run their Virus Checker software after visiting "www.toppsmillion.com". It sounds like it might have a problem.

Nope, not a porn site., though obviously not correct, as I tried to go there. The site that I landed on was an investment site.

A "trojan" virus, by it's name definition, doesn't always kick in right away - it could start days or months later after ya catch it.

I have been trying to get on for the past day and It has been down for maintenance. Very frustrating because you would think that they had almost a month to figure things out before going online. All this time wasted for a 1980's common.

I just was able to get on and Imade a mistake. Al this time wasted for a 2000 Vinny Castillo common. Who considers 2000- 2009 vintage?

They never said it was 'vintage.' All they guaranteed was at least one of every card from 1952 through 2009. To make it work and without going bankrupt there are obviously going to be more cards from 1987 to 2009 than any other year.

I thought it rerad vintage but again, i made a mistake. I still think they should give away a lot less cards and only give away ones people would actually want. They will save a lot on stamps that way. I understand it is a way to drum up interest but I do not know anyone who wants more crap cards that they threw out instead of their mothers
