Is it a bad idea to bid on cards while drinking?

Because that's what I'm doing right now. I just got finished working on a research project this afternoon with my grad assistant and I'm
going full throttle tonight!

    Not really!

I once was shattered and found my way on to Ebay and typed in some bids only to wake up the next day and realize I had won a 1953 Topps Whitey Ford PSA 7 for $600+ image

I did it once on an REA auction and ended up with '54 and '55 Bowman sets, and '53, & '58 Topps sets. A few other lots as well.
    Brutal.

I guess at long as you're enjoying it responsibly. Just be sure you don't see about 7-8 Ebay logos at the same time and make sure you don't accidentally bid on some $100,000+ item or something. image

I'd be affraid to go anywhere near the computer while drinking.

For me - the only thing that goes with drinking...is more drinking.

And bowling. And sometimes a bit of reckless gambling.
  • I was in disbelief one morning as I scrolled down the page looking at the bids I entered the night before, when I got to the bottom I was really blown away..

Rats! I went over to St Mary's campus but found no grad assistants willing to stay up and drink with me.

Would yours be interested in coming out to SF for a while, Doc?

Played in a weekend team event at the golf club some years back. Young guy (probably under 40) on our team was hung over, talking about his late night partying. Said he saw 3 balls on the ground. Someone hollered "Hit the one in the middle."

Let me ask my buddy Nick Adenhart....oh wait, I can't. I'm not one to come at anyone else, but I highly disagree with that comment!

I got hepped up on the strawberry Quik once and bought Neil's entire inventory of "Here's Bo" boxes.

The bat rastid wouldn't let me out of the deal either!

But she looks awesome on some of those cards. Especially the split on the beach, but who could forget her with the bat and shoulder pads . . .
